Question Need advice on drives

My current case (NZXT H400) has 1x 3.5” bay and 3x 2.5” bays however I’m starting to run out of storage with games being installed. Instead of replacing the 3.5” with a larger one I was wanting another hard drive to install games on. I was originally planning to get a 2.5” HDD but most I find are 5400rpm and I also have looked at external bays however I feel there may be a performance decrease. Any advice on what to buy would be appreciated.

What capacity are you looking for ? It may be time to ad a cheap SSD. External drives are no good to install programs and games on.

right now I have a 1 TB 7200 and 240GB SSD looking to get a 1TB or 2TB

If may cost you more or same to go external than break down and replace that old 1TB with something else.
