Need Advice on friends build

so I'm putting together a small build for my friend and I'm torn at the moment, I can either get him an Athlon x3 455 with 4gb of ram and a mobo for 65 or I can get him a q8200 a g31 board and 4gb or ram for 45 and throw in a cheap graphics card so he can do some 720p gaming, I'm torn at the moment tell me what you think. thanks

also note that core 2 is ddr2 and the Athlon is ddr3

I'd get the Athlon, it's better then the Q8200. As for the GPU I'd look for a GT 730 64-bit for cheap.

Vote for Athlon II X3 455 unless you are in a very tight budget. It will be worth the extra 20 bucks in the long run. Just ensure that it is working properly before you purchase the set.
