hey guys,
just needed alittle advice on a new build ill be doing shortly, this will be used playing games such as wow, leagues of legends, sc2, d3, cod series and fallout 3. i mostly need help with deciding which motherboard to get and gpu.
i already have a case and dvd reader/burner
im looking at getting
cpu: i7 950
gpu: gtx 570 or gtx 580 ( not sure if its worth it seeing as i only wanna get a i7 950)
power : 850 watt corsair gold
ram: 8 gig corsair dominator
storage: 60 gig solid state
motherboard: not sure yet most likely asus or gigabyte

if u guys could help me pick a full sized motherboard and if its worth getting these gpus or better off getting a cheaper one.

I dont know what your budget is, but a pretty good motherboard for that i7-950 is an

ASUS Rampage III Formula LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131666&cm_re=ASUS_Rampage_III_Formula-_-13-131-666-_-Product

OR

ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131641

OR

EVGA X58 FTW3 132-GT-E768-KR LGA 1366 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

But personally i would suggest waiting a little for the SB i7-2600K(its cheaper and way better in performance than i7-950 especially if Overclocked) and wait for the ASUS Sabertooth P67(worth to wait a little for because its going to be a really nice motherboard probably the best for Sandy Bridge i7-2600K)

Hope i've helped and good luck on your build =)

Scratch that i didn't mean to say the Sandy Bridge i7-2600K is cheaper than the i7-950 its a little bit more expensive but only about $30 more but it is definitely worth it.

A mobo with s1366 is what you need for i7-950. ASUS n Gigabyte are good. You could consider other brand like EVGA or ASRock.
GTX 580 is current nvidia best gpu. But, GTX 570 also performs very well. Are you going SLI or not?
A SSD is nice. But 60gb is too small. I suggest you add a HDD. Samsung Spinpoint is a good one.
How much is your budget?

Like i said i don't know your budget, but if you SLI definitely go for the 2x GTX 580's but if you want to save some money, which i recommend doing, get 2x GTX 570's pretty much the same thing just a couple of features aren't there that would normally be there on a 580 but you don't really need it anyway.

Yeah and ASUS or EVGA or Gigabyte are the motherboards i use for builds i recommend gettin the LGA 1366 for your processor but if you wait a little you can get the new Sandy Bridge i7-2600K like i said before.

Sorry didn't see your budget there.Yeah if you want to SLI it's better to do it with the 2x GTX 570'S or if you dont want to SLI than just get the GTX 580(best card out there)
