hello everyone,

i recently upgraded my old rig and im almost done but i cant decide which gpu i should pick. i want to play games @ constant 60fps and above with no stutter. and i want this pc to last for at least 3-5 years

I picked up a ryzen 2700x with a b450 gaming pro carbon mobo and a teamgroup 3600 cl18 xcalibur ram. im currently undecided on which gpu to pick and i was thinking of getting a RX 580 @$ 290 (vega 56/64 is out of the question as its still too expensive and i just want to buy them at my local store) or a GTX 1070 ti for $450.

my current monitor is a 27 inch 1080p 144hz freesync monitor and the games i usually play are mmorpg (TERA, Blade & Soul, Aion, Guildwars 2, Black desert online. monster hunter world), moba (dota2), shooter (pubg) and single player games like Assassins creed, tomb raider and witcher 3.

would a rx580 suffice? or will a gtx 1070ti too overkill @ 1080p? i currently have no plans to upgrade my monitor since 1440p monitors are not really cheap from where im at.

Solution
On the less demanding games it will hit 144 fps and above but usually on the AAA titles it will stay between 60-144 fps.

I still think it's better to go with the RX 580 since you have a freesync monitor and getting over 60 fps will benefit you.

For 1080p the 1070ti is overkill and the price difference is quite big. I would get the Nvidia card only if you're planning to upgrade to a higher res monitor
