I currently have a Nvidia GT120 graphics card which is ok, but I'm looking for a more powerful graphics card for gaming. I came across the HIS 6950 IceQ X Turbo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161372 , and wasn't sure if this card could run on my Gateway LX6810 Desktop.

The specifications of my system are below:

( I have the Intel® Core™2 Quad processor with 8gb of ram and I recently switched the power supply to OCZ OCZ700GXSSLI-B GameXStream 700W ATX12V SLI/Crossfire Ready ATX Power Supply).

Thanks in adv.

I disagree.

First of all, that HIS 6950 requires a power supply with MINUMUM 500w. While it will never actually use up all of that, at the same time, the PSU that came with your prebuilt PC is probably very very unreliable and will not be able to provide the full 500w that it might advertise. I know, its crappy, but unfortunately, there is nothing keeping some random manufacturer from slapping a 4000w sticker on a 12w power supply.

I would replace that GPU with a quality brand like corsair, antec, OCZ. Any 550W PSU from any these will be great for ya.

If you read the post carefully I said I replaced the power supply with a 700W
