Question Need advice on new PC build

The build looks good, though you could swap the rams for a dual channel DDR4-3600-Mhz ram kit. The platform/CPU will allow you to get there. That case, however, needs to go since it's got bad airflow. I'd split your SSD purchase into two, one for your OS(which is smaller) and the other as your game library(if the system is built for gaming as it's primary task).

Your build will work as is.
I have some thoughts:

The supplied cooler and paste will do the job.

Ryzen depends on fast ram for performance. 3600 speed is about the sweet spot.

For $10 more, I would buy a 1tb samsung 980 m.2 pcie drive:
https://www.newegg.com/samsung-1tb-980/p/N82E16820147804?quicklink=true

If this is for gaming, I might try to up the power of the graphics card relative to the cpu.
Particularly if you play fast action games.

The case is actually OK.
Yes, it has a single front intake, but it is a 200mm unit which can move a lot of air.

650w is ok for the RX 6600
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are buying new parts, I would go for latest gen, in particular Intel 12th gen.
I3-12100F sells for $108:
Here is a review:
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-core-i3-12100-12100f-review
FWIW, I think the extra $25 or so for the non F version to get integrated graphics is good insurance.
A bit stronger would be the I5-12400F for $170:
https://www.newegg.com/intel-core-i5-12400f-core-i5-12th-gen/p/N82E16819118360
Here is a review.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-core-i5-12400-review
The processors come with a stock cooler that is adequate.
If you want a larger cooler to control noise, verify that it has a lga1700 mount.
Noctua NH-U12S redux is about $50:
https://www.newegg.com/noctua-nf-p12-redux-1700-pwm/p/13C-0005-001N1

Intel does not benefit much from fast ram, DDR4 3200 speed is fine.

A B660 based motherboard might be about $120.
For example:
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813162048

If, by now you have saved a bit of budget, look for a stronger graphics card like a $400 RTX3060

Here is an Intel alternative with the price of a case your build would be similar in cost;

I have a question for yall. Whats your opinions on used gaming computers?
I live not far from a military base and theres quite a few gaming computers for sale from there. I guess the soldiers either find gaming isnt for them or their shipping out and dont want to carry it. Either way theres some nice setups there.

As long as it is in working condition and has parts that are no older than 3-4 years they could be a very viable buy for the right price.

Heres a few more questions for yall; Is it worth the expense to build a DDR5 setup? Never mind on this question, its not on the table at all for me
Is liquid cooling worth the trouble? Just seems to me the last thing I want pumping thru an expensive setup is water
geofelt recommended the RTX3060 graphics card and im really considering getting one but which one? Theres so many different brands and models it makes choosing hard.

Worth is a question only YOU can determine.
Today, there is minimal, if any performance difference between DDR4 and DDR5.
Also, DDR5 based motherboards tend to be more expensive.
No question that DDR5 will be prevalent on the next gen systems.
That is probably a moot point.
Most will upgrade a cpu and a motherboard at the same time.
My opinion is that today, DDR5 is not worth it.

Again, just my opinion, liquid cooling is generally not worth it, excepting some situations.
Namely, High performance with top processors needing a 360 or larger aio.
Or, possibly in small cases where cooler height is an issue.
Cooling from 280 sized aio coolers will be about the same as with a good twin tower air cooler.
The case you picked with a 200mm front intake is good for air, but not particularly good for liquid cooling.

On graphics, I mentioned RTX3060 as a stronger class card, but not necessarily that one. You mostly get what you pay for in graphics. I would avoid the very highly overclocked factory versions.
As a brand, in the USA, I like EVGA because of their support.

Oh dear... Im not going to try and rain on your parade, yeah. That case is a suffocating coffin for your parts, that AIO is super over priced and has questionable quality, TEAMGROUP much less name brand than G Skill or Corsair for memory, that Samsung 980 is a DRAMless SSD, that particular EVGA PSU is not as good as any of their G# PSUs and costs the same, and you almost definitely do not need Windows 11 Pro as the extra functionality is useless for 99% of people.

For instance this is much better for the price and aesthetically pleasing with aRGB everywhere. For 30 dollars more you could get a 3070, a much more trusted AIO that will perform better, a 12700f that is more performant in every single way, good name brand RAM with aRGB, a case that would provide great airflow, a better power supply for 10 dollars more, a similar capacity Samsung drive with 1 gb of DRAM for faster sustained and bursty reads and writes, and windows 11 home to save 40 dollars.

Nice build ^^ ... maybe a few tweaks to it.

Exhaust fan for that Phanteks case so it doesn't become a hotbox.

LOL, about what I expected but you said you were not going to rain on my parade. Man I would love to be there when you do decide to rain on someone's parade. Ive come to find out no one agrees on cases. No matter what case someone chooses its a hotbox with no airflow. I like the Phoenix for its mobo mount being 90* out from most all others. Yeah it sucked it didnt come with any fans at all but I was willing to deal with that for its other features.
As for Win 11 Pro I really did think about that alot and in the end even knowing I would likely never need the extras in Pro I wanted them.
Ok ill admit I overpaid for the cooler. You can say I paid $70 for the LCD temp readout.
I didnt want Intel
I think you misread the price on the 3060 because the 3070 wasnt $30 more it was $183.50 more
Maybe I made a mistake on the 980 but I settled on it after reading an article on that subject. https://insights.samsung.com/2021/0...text=In fact, a DRAM-less,is going to be slow.

Thanks for being honest. Have a great day.

The AIO fits that case just fine as a front mount. Swap the intakes for exhaust and presto chango you got a cool running box. Also the asus board has a slightly worse vrm setup but has better cooler mounting capability, otherwise I almost always throw in the MSI b660 boards. Cheers.

Thats where the AIOs going to go to. I wasnt sure the hoses on a 3 fan unit would reach the CPU with the board being turned 90* out. So I planed to put the 3 NZXT fans on the front like you said.
Dang I just noticed the 3 NZXT fans didnt show up on the parts list I posted. Well anyway thats the plan

i dont know what your max budget is but my current setup an config is as followed

my yellow demon for pixs details

cpu - 2600x oc to 4.07ghz

mobo - gigabyte AORUS B450M

ram - 2 x Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16

gpu - gigabyte aorus 1660 super oc g1 - vertical mounted

drives - 2 x Crucial P1 500GB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD ( 1 va pci adapter )

cpu cooler - arctic freezer II 120MM aio

psu - evga supernova g3 650watt (with cablemods custom cables)

fans - x 6 NOCTUA ( 2x 140mm industrialPPC-3000 PWM )
top exhaust ( 4 x 120mm industrialPPC-3000 PWM ) 1 rear 3 front intakes

case - Corsair 275R Airflow ( custom yellow paint job )

Monitor - AOC C24G1 24.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor

mouse - Logitech G502 HERO Wired Optical Mouse

keyboard - Drop Shift Mechanical Keyboard Anodized Aluminum (Gray, Barebones) with

Switches - Kailh Box Ancient Grey & Kailh BOX dark yellow

Keycaps - Retro Steampunk Set

audio gear is

dac - Grace Design Standard DAC Balanced

amp - schiit magnius

cans - monolith m570

my next build is underway an have got most of the parts minus case , half the fans an half the ram an screen but is almost

here my next build an if you have the cash my suggest to you

the hammer

my config is for this build to have the aio bottom mounted as intake with the fans mounted in the pull config on the inside

an the others as exhaust in the front with one extra intake at the back with the whole breathable area covered with some good filter mesh

also on the bottom to

this will control as much lint an dust as possible an give very good pressure an air flow over an

past the gpu as if dove the other way you can build heat tring to blow it all out the other way

from front to back as a single exhaust doesnt give as much pull with such an open back case

also the layout is easy to clean with a shop vac in blower mode

also get just in case to do bios update for the 5600x cpu

an

AMD Athlon 3000G 2-Core, 4-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Radeon Graphics

an a

Noctua NH-U14S, Premium CPU Cooler with NF-A15 140mm Fan (Brown)

this is a very affordable grab to get to get you build up to load bios update an any other base drivers

an to get to main screen to load os an of check gpu an other functionality an if you go with a linux

os like pop os or other linux distros your dont have to reinstall or activate the os again like

with windows when you swap cpu or mobo so thats a plus .plus you'll save a 100$ or so as linux is free
