Need advice on upgrading EVGA FEforce GTX SC 760 2GB GDDR5

Hello everyone,

Its been quite some time since Ive posted on here, but It is the holidays and I am looking to spoil myself with a new graphics card.

Although, I don't know which graphics card would be optimal for my price range of $250-300 US.

I am looking to upgrade to the 10 series of EVGA (or anything else that is worth researching), but haven't a clue to what is good now a days considering I haven't upgraded since 2014 and because I'm a total newbie to the market of graphics cards.

Would appreciate more insight in to which graphics cards are compatible with my MOBO for that price range and which would totally blow my 760 out of the water.

Here are my current specs.

Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.40Ghz
ASROCK Z77 Extreme4
DDR3 8GB
EVGA FEforce GTX SC 760 2GB GDDR5

Now is there is difference between these? or is it just the name?

They are just different brands. They perform the same. I would go with the Gigabyte brand card just because it is cheaper. I have a Gigabyte G1 GTX 1070 and I have no complaints with it.

final question.
Does that gb matter for graphics cards? I'm researching and I've come across 3gb or 6gb cards.
Im only running one 144hz monitor and do not plan on running multiple windows.

It depends on the game. In many games the 3GB and 6GB model 1060s perform very similarly to each other.

In a few games the 6GB model performs significantly better than the 3GB model. I believe that this will be the case with a higher percentage of games going forward but that is just my opinion. There are some members here who think 3GB is enough and that you shouldn't pay more for the 6GB model.
