That mobo you chose is great for overclocking a cpu with a standard fsb of 800, and 1066, but not for a cpu with a standard fsb of 1333. You would want a P45 for that. On a good note the E7400 when over clocked hangs right in there with the E8400. If you simply move up your fsb to (10.5 x 333) and run that E7400 at 3.5GHz @ 1333 fsb you have a nice clock going on with little change in voltage if any. Also check out the gtx 260's. More often than naught they beat out the 4870's and when both cards are over clocked the gtx 260's smoke the 4870's not to mention better driver support of Nvidea cards. btw the monitor I posted is about identical with the one you have except this monitor has a quicker response time 2ms vs 5ms. <--- E7400 OC benchmarks Combo Discount: -$10.00 Combo Price: $189.98

If you do stick with the intel build I agree with why_me about the processor

I have an e7300 , which I set to 333fsb to get 3.33GHZ and it is perfectly stable on stock voltage and benchmarks a fraction ahead of an e8400, but cost far less .

Of course if you overclocked an e8400 its different story again
