Need advice: should i get 75hz (freesync) 1080p or 60hz (non freesync) 1440p

I'm trying to decide which is the better option for my monitor replacement. I will be running a 290x/390 equivalent or better. I need an IPS panel and these are my only options since I cannot afford a 144hz freesync 1080p or a 1440p freesync monitor. The 1440p monitor is $170 more than the 1080p one. Which would be a better investment? These are the monitors I am considering btw:

I would personally go for the 24" 1080p Freesync IPS display.
the performance level of your GPU would require freesync on a 1440p screen due to the FPS varying too much and 24" seems to be the perfect size for 1080p monitors.

hello there im going to have to agree with frank here the other thing to mention to is that 1440p doesnt look or do very well on a smaller display either you would want something like 127 inch if you were going to go with 1440p.

yeah, agreed! 27" is the right size for 1440p (I have this myself).
