I'm thinking of updating my BIOS and vBIOS from the official acer website to improve performance but I've heard it could potentially brick my hardware that I can't afford. I'm having issues like after opening a folder upon fresh boot, the icons takes 4-5 seconds to load even with an SSD and I usually use my laptop plugged in for both games or normal usage purpose. Games lag or stutter occasionally at random; Rocket League almost always looses packet data during ongoing matches but the ping is average among other players, maybe that could be a wifi issue.
I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 laptop with these specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600H
GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050M (75W)
RAM: 8GB 1600Mhz
SDD: 256GB
HDD: 1 TB

Please help and advise me thanks.

how full is the ssd?
what the ram usage?
what the cpu/gpu temp?
SSD currently used 123GB out of 237GB approx 50% space.
RAM normal usage currently 5.5 GB (cries) out of 7.4 GB (total shows less than 8GB idk why) but CPU usage normal was 2-4% only just with music, solitaire, browser casual usage.
CPU normal temp: 44-48 C
GPU normal temp: 43-45 C
those normal temperatures go 3 to 4 degrees higher without the room AC.
I didn't measure stats while on load, if you need them I can give after doing a proper benchmark.

Update: I checked thermals while playing rocket league. Units in degree celsius:
CPU average temp: 77-88, max upto 92
GPU average temp: 62-74, max upto 87
RAM usage: 5.1 GB

First make sure that BIOS and/or vBIOS is actually causing a problem. Find people who have the same model of laptop you do and see if they're experiencing the same issues and if updating either worked.

However, chances are, you're not going to solve your problem updating either. All BIOS does is, outside of setting up the CPU and RAM, provides a way to expose the devices to the OS. Once the OS is loaded, BIOS is no longer in control. vBIOS is similar in this regard.
