Hello All! I just purchased a new PC due to the fact that a capacitor on my older HP desktop's motherboard went bad and did not want to put any $$$ into. I also wanted a nice new gaming rig (which I did end up buying myself)! Anyways, I'm thinking of piecing together a decent gaming system using some of the parts from my old HP PC for my brother. I did upgrade some of the existing parts in it. Here is the original PC I purchased from Best Buy...

I upgraded the PSU and GPU. Here are the parts that I have upgraded and that I think I can put into this new sytem build...

Now I still have the 16x DVD/CD writer/player also. The system came with 3GB of DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300 MB/sec). I'm not sure if I should still use that. The parts I know I'll need are a new chassis, motherboard, HDD and possible RAM and oh yeah an OS right? I guess I'd like to upgrade that system to 4 or 6GB of RAM if possible. Now keep in mind I don't want this thing to be a beast or anything close to it. I want to keep the costs down and see if it is worth spending a few bucks and putting together a decent gaming system for my brother with some parts that I have and probably will not ever use again. Keep in mind that I've also never put a system together but am sooo excited to try. I have been doing a ton of research since I've bought my new rig and feel like I am more than capable of putting one together now. I consider myself to be an average to above average PC user with ambition!
I do like the practicality of this chassis...

I'll probably also need to buy a few fans for it too.
Remember the cheaper the better but I'd still like a good solid build to put together.
I am new to this community but have seen how helpful you all have been. I look forward to hearing back from you and looking at any suggestions you might have.
I'm sure I've missed a few important steps too so don't be afraid to remind me!
Thanks for your time!!!
