need advice upgrading my current config ( 2560x1600) 1.2k-1.3k

Hello all and thanks for taking the time to read the fellowing.

Like the title says im looking to upgrade my current pc to something a little bit better since i'm starting to feel some lag while gaming at 2560x1600 , Budget is around 1.2k-1.3k , mostly for gaming but will do some small 3d modeling nothing too crazy.

this is what I have came up with feel free to give your own advice
keep in mind I only need cpu gpu motherboard and Ram.

i would suggest getting at 780 ti, since it recently came out,
would also suggest a liquid cpu cooler, so you can overclock, bassically free performance boost.

780ti for that resolution.

No ifs or buts.

That's a lot of pixels for one GTX 780. You will have to play on medium-high settings or try to get a stronger GPU like the 780ti.

Also the RAM you listed is for a laptop, not a desktop.

Try this out, I still would go with a stronger GPU for that many pixels but I don't feel that the 780ti is worth the price difference. Perhaps you could go with 2x 770 but that might need a PSU upgrade as well depending on what you have..

ok Im gonna look more into the gpu. Is ti really worth it. As for the psu I currently have a 1000w. thx for the suggestion will look into it

1000w is fine if it's a decent unit, what's the make and model?

For me the extra $200 for the ti isn't worth it. I believe you could get 2x $300 cards and be better off.
