Need advice: Which to upgrade first?

I am currently running an i7-2600k with a modest OC to 4.2ghz on an MSI P67A-GD65 with 16 gb of ram. I received as a birthday present a 1080 ti! I have two choices of upgrades right now:

-Upgrade CPU/mobo/ram
-Or upgrade from my 1080p 60hz monitor to something like 1440p 144hz

Which to prioritize first? I can do one pretty soon and the other a few months after that. My goal is to get the most out of the new GPU as soon as possible. Any thoughts?

A 1080ti without a g sync monitor at 1080p will give screen tearing. So u have to limit the fps to 60 in game.
Also, what psu are you running? The 1080ti is a 250w card.
But yes, a cpu upgrade is good for current gen AAA titles, but that old 1080p screen would be a bummer with the 1080ti. So if possible, upgrade both.

850w PSU, not too worried there. I always get more than I need just in case I ever need it.

I do intend to upgrade both, I just won't have the cash to do both at once. I'll probably order something black Friday and then save a few dollars to get something late January or February.

At 60Hz you will see no benefit from a faster cpu but you will see a big difference from a monitor upgrade. Ok your 1080Ti won't reach its full potential but at 1080p 60Hz its just wasted.

Thanks for the answers. I think the monitor will give the most noticeable immediate benefit. I'll do that first and then go for the rest in a few months.
