Greetings, folks.

I need some advices about a new build. I come from an old machine.
Here's my first ever (and last ever) build from 2008 :

Intel Core 2 Duo - E7400
Sapphire 4850 HD - 1 GB DDR3
Ballistix 4GB DDR2 - (2x2GB)
(can't remember the motherboard ahah)
550W PSU
22" LCD Samsung

Here's what I'm looking at :

Intel Core i3-12100F (3.3 GHz) - 4c / 8t
Asus Radeon RX 6400 PH - 4GB DDR6
DDR4 G.Skill - 16 Gb 3200 MHz
Crucial SSD M.2 3.0 500 Gb
Gigabyte H610M S2H DDR4
Asus ROG Strix 550G 550W 80 PLUS Gold
Zalman Z1 Iceberg - Black
Bluestork MediaFirst 2 (AZERTY)
Logitech MX Master 3

I will be buying the components in France by mid-end November, my budget is between 600 - 1000€.
I'm a graphic designer and I edit videos too, no games (the last games I really played were Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3).

What about the DDR5 Memory, is it worth to invest on it now ? Also I'm aware about the AMD versus Intel's battle, I have seen that both have come up
with great cpus, therefore I don't know which one I should buy especially at the moment I'm writing these lines with the new Ryzen line-up coming up
and the Raptor Lake cpus that are about to be announced.

Any advice is more than welcome

i suggest getting an nvidia card instead of a radeon card. but thats personal preference.

also right now if youre willing to spend the extra money then go for ddr5.

Go for the intel brand of cpu theyve dominated the last couple years in speed.

also go for a stronger power supply, its better to go over even if you already are over.

also bigger ssds are really cheap right now, i suggest a 2tb nvme. very worth it for the money.

Slightly over your max budget, but a far better system, gaming performance wise.

You could build as is.
My thoughts:
Since you will not be gaming, the integrated graphics of the non F version of the
I3-12100 will work perfectly well. Usually about $25 more.

Today, there is no real difference in performance between DDR4 and DDR5.
DDR4 being cheaper, I would pick that.
Do, however insist on a 2 x 8gb kit.

Is 500gb going to be sufficient?

FWIW, I also use a MX master 3 and love it.
