Hey guys. I am going to need some help for a case. I currently have the Haf XM which I am modding atm. However, I still think I need something bigger but not ugly. No Azza Genesis type of a case. I know there's a new Fractal D XL2 but I had to take back the one on the picture due to limitations. So please advise me on what to get. I am currently waiting for the Corsair 900D to come out and see what the price is and make a move but I am willing to grab a nice case that can take tons of watercooling (420/480mm radiator and another 280 which I currently have or 360mm). Thanks for the help.

The XL R2 is mostly for air cooling. cant really expect it to be capable of watercooling

the corsair 900D will run you 350 or so.

a switch 810 would also be nice. its around 150-180 and has room for a 360 in the top, a 240 (or 280 i think) in the front, and a 120 on the bottom. not too different from a haf xm from what i know. a haf xm should be able to contain enough space for your components in your rig. just buy thicker rads

I don't plan on getting the XL R2. The Haf XM can't take a thicker rad. I am currently working on it to fit a drop in 480mm rad at the top for my bro. He just said no to the case so now I keep it to myself and keep working on it. I will get him the Arc Midi. Anyways, the one thing I don't like about the switch is the amount of plastic on it. I will give it a closer look tomorrow at a store and then decide. The 900D will bleed money but is very versatile since I intend on watercooling lots and eventually running an Ivy Bridge Extreme platform when it comes out if not Sandy Bridge i7 3930K with 3-way CF. Any other suggestions?

The looks of it kills me plus a window is must since I got sexy hardware in my rig and more sexier when I get the watercooling parts delivered!

I am also looking at this: http://www.caselabs-store.com/merlin-sm8-x/

I saw an add on kijiji someone selling 700D. He then upped the price from 195 to 200 and has front 5.25 covers missing. Never bothered to reply. Most I was going to pay was 100 because I would have had to mod it to fit my taste.

I can dream. How good is the switch in terms of blocking out the noise with?

I have 5 Noctua-NF-P12 and 2 Noctua-AF14 FLX. So I guess I am set. Can that case take push pull setup with a 40mm rad or would I have to go smaller than that? Because I think the Storm Styker can do push/pull since I will take the handles off if I buy it.

I'll check it out. Wouldn't a push pull result in a faster removal of hot air from the rad? Because that's really what happens with a push-pull unless there isn't much room for a 60mm thick radiator up top.

they arent really useful if your FPI rating on the rad is rather low or if the rad isnt that thick.

push pull doesnt perform as well as you think even if you have a high FPI rad or a super thick rad. the max difference you will see with every rad in push pull is 3-6c. not worth my money

I see. So now it's down to deciding between the 2 cases: Stryker or NZXT. The NZXT Switch 810($139.99 Canadian) costs less than Stryker ($169.99) I guess the choice is easy. I will see how this current mod ends up and then decide but I think even when the mod is done I better move up to a full tower case.

If I could get a 700D for 100 a used one that is, I'd be so freakin happy because I can mod it and have it fit everything. But they are impossible to find and those who have them won't sell them.
