Yes. But check the "cpu support" section to be sure your bios version supports the cpu. Am2+Am3 boards use ddr2 only but work with both am2+ and am3 cpus up to a certain wattage, depending on the motherboard chipset; Am3 boards use ddr3 only, so am2 or am2+ cpus won't run on am3 boards. Make sense?

what i have is a foxconn digitalife A79A-S MOTHERBOARD,it says it is based on amd 790fx chipset with SB750 southbridge,supports amd phenom fx,phenom socket am2+ processor, dual DDR2 1066 /800/667/533MHZ, 4 DIMM,8GB MAX., WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR IS WHAT PROCESSOR AND RAM WILL WORK BEST WITH THIS BOARD..THANKS
