Hello, I have been working on figuring out a build for gaming for over a week and found what i think are good deals with NewEgg. Can u please review and suggest any changes if i would very much appreciate it This is my first build and i am trying to make one that will last me a long time.

This build will be used mainly for gaming.

I like Corsair products' reviews and look

I do not plan on using more than 1 monitor.

I want to stick with an all black color scheme.

I might put in an additional 2 120mm fans if needed and a white cathode.

I plan on over clocking if need be (using only 1920x1080 resolution)

Not sure if the power supply is sufficient.

Please share your opinions and suggestion. I need to order today to take advantage of some of the savings.

The PSU is sufficient. EDIT: Sufficient for a single 580 that is.

Not sure what criteria you used to pick your mobo, but check out this one from ASRock:

Cheaper, still supports x8/x8 (in case you want to sli/xfire later), and also has PCIe 3.0 for ivy bridge if you upgrade. It's a really good board for the price.

That RAM is fine but those heat spreaders barely do anything except for get in the way of some aftermarket heat sinks. Won't get in the way of the H80, but still, just to be aware.

 

[Why_Me]

You need more watts with the psu to push two of those 580's in SLI. Here's some worth taking a look at.

Regarding the HD, does the WD's 64mb cache compared to the Spinpoint's 32mb cache make a difference?

Regarding the Power Supply, being that i will only be using one monitor @ 1920x1080p would i need to upgrade to SLI in the future? if not will the 750 watts be enough in this case?

The cache makes no difference, but the platter density does. That's where 1tb h/d's have the advantage over the 750.

If you don't plan on going with a dual vid card set up later on, then I would get a cheaper board and step down to the Corsair or XFX 650w psu.

I chose this MoBo for 2 reasons

1, The touch bios seems to make it easy for a rookie over clocker to make simple tweeks. I am not trying to break any OC or bench mark records but would like the ability to increase performance as easy as possible. It also offers me the chance (if i realy hae the need) to SLI in the future.

2, It's all black

I changed out the 750 watt PSU for a 850 watt.
It was only $20 more in the same type of combo deal. If $20 give me the option to run x2 SLI 580s in case i change my mind in the future i think its a great deal. Thank you.
Just one thing about the 850 PSU. The NewEgg PSU calculator suggest 981 watts. Is this just safe estimation that the calculator gives?

You could run 2x 580s along with the rest of your system all at stock on a 750w PSU easily. 850w will give you a good bit of overclocking headroom, but if you were to overvolt everything and take it all to the limit, you'd be looking at the mid 900s in DC draw. So basically the 580s pull ~250w stock and ~380w pushing them as hard as they'll go.
