For the purposes of running Adobe Creative Suite (often times simultaneously running photoshop/illustrator/etc and moving between the two), and for occasionally playing Rift or Secret World or something along those lines, and with the expectation that I'm less likely to upgrade a system than to replace it entirely in a few years (I give hand-me-down machines to my two younger sisters), which of these is better overall and will give me better results (or, is it negligible?)

Option 1:
i7 3770k 3.5 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA 1155

8 GB (4GB x 2) DDR3/1866 Corsair Vengeance

GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (EVGA Superclocked)

Corsair Hydro Series H60 High Performance Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan (Dual Standard 120MM Fans (Push-Pull))

GIGABYTE Z77-DS3H Intel Z77 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ IRST, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 2x Gen3 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1 & 2 PCI

+Performance Overclock 10% or more

Option 2:
i7 3820 Processor (4x 3.60GHz/10MB L3 Cache)

16 GB (4GB x 4) DDR3/2133 G.SKILL RipjawsX

GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB (EVGA Superclocked)

Corsair Hydro Series H60 Liquid CPU Cooling System-ARC Dual Silent High Performance Fan (Push-Pull)

ASUS P9X79 LE

I love reading the discussions on this forum but I really just can't seem to understand all of it...but people here always seem to know what they're talking about...so any input would be greatly appreciated...just want to know which of these options will be stronger as an "all-purpose" (or if one of these options will be particularly worse than the other at either of the intended uses).

Thanks for any help!

Wow that was fast. The overclocked 3770k is not as strong as the 3820? I thought I figured out that the 3770k overclocked would be marginally faster (but TBH I really don't understand three quarters of the conversations I read on this forum).

Adobe Creative Suite is my primary focus for this machine, but I am curious (I've been on gaming hiatus for years), how would either of these perform, generally speaking, in terms of gaming? Bad? Good? Middle-of-the-road?

Thanks for the response btw.

Solution
Both r nice, I prefer 2nd option, as I don't really good in oc, beside, it has more ram,m I currently use 8gb hyperx 1866 for Ps n Sony Vegas, both use up all my ram..

Yah, at the both of you, does it make a difference whether the 16GB RAM (up from 8GB) is 1866 or 2133? Will I see any difference at all? Worth paying the extra bucks for or is 1866 sufficient?

Also, thanks for the links, Manochalk.

There isnt much performance difference between 1866 and 2133Mhz RAM. Definitely not enough to justify the price difference anyway.
Also make sure when you put in the new kit its the exact same kit as the initial one, otherwise it can lead to all kinds of issues.
