Need assistance in choosing a right mid range graphic card.

Hi guys, Kindly help me with this one. My current graphic card ATI HD 5570 1GB has failed and I am planning to upgrade.

I have two questions which have been troubling me for a while now:

1) Which is better ? a 1GB DDR 5 card or a 2 GB DDR 3 card.

2) Kindly suggest a mid range graphic card for gaming. My budget is anything under 5.5K (INR) .

My HD 5570 easily managed Skyrim, Farcry 3 on high settings. So its more like an upgrade for me especally when some interesting titles like GTA 5 are coming soon.

I use my pc for gaming and online streaming. I do not use high end graphic applications like Maya,...

I will only be using one monitor. My current monitor 21" LCD samsung Sw2233 gives me 1980x1080 and I am happy with it

Also, playing games at 1980x1080 are high enough for me and I will be sticking to this resolution. I am not too sure if games are available at a higher resolution than this.

I3-2120 CPU @3.3 GHz
8 GB ram
Windows 8 pro

just FYI here is my windows experience index when card was working fine:

Processor: 7.2
RAM: 7.5
Graphics: 6.9
Gaming graphics: 6.9
HDD: 5.9

Overall: 5.9

Please suggest me with a good card based on the information above.

I have no idea what your currency is and therefore don't understand your budget. It looks like it coeesponds to 766€, but with the same amount of money you can buy very different things in different countries.

The HD 7970 GHz is the best card for you. It's the most powerful single-GPU card from AMD. You will be able to run any current and future games at ultra settings at 70-80 fps at your resolution. So very future-proof.
