Need assistance with CPU replacement/comparison

I have the below CPU(s)/Systems and would like to just get one system that could replace them.
I only use them to run Seti@home which I have found out to be more GPU process, but as for CPU, would an i5, i7, i9, or AMD Ryzen be able to replace the processing power of the following?

System: iMac
CPU: Genuine Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 550 @ 3.20GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 5] (4 processors)
GPU: AMD ATI Radeon HD 5670 (512MB) OpenCL: 1.2

System: HP Laptop
CPU: Genuine Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900 @ 2.20GHz [Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10] (1 processors)
GPU: N/A

System: HP Laptop
CPU: Genuine Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz [Family 6 Model 142 Stepping 9] (4 processors)
GPU: N/A

OK. You can easily build a system more powerful than any one, and I'll use this comparison index to get an idea of our benchmark for total power to beat:

The two i3's add up to a bit over 31 GFlops on average, and the Celeron adds a less significant amount. An i7-8700K is given 76 and change on it's own in the same database, more than doubling your CPU power. The Ryzen 7 2700X comes close at 75 and change.

What application(s) will you use on the new system? Also, would you figure a new, better video card into the mix for it's computing resources in Seti or other apps?

Since none of the three systems listed are particularly high end (particularly the second, the Celeron laptop) a suitably fast i7/i9 or equivalent Ryzen system with a good card can beat it. If you want a particular recommendation for a build, do you have a budget?

I would have the system setup dual boot Win10 and Ubuntu. I would have Microsoft Office products for college along with Java and Python for programming. When not in use it will be running Seti@home which will be 85% of the time. I would like to stay under 2K, with the RTX cards coming out I know the GTX 1080Ti or 1050Ti will be dramatically going down in price and would definitely out do what those three systems combined are doing.
 
I would rank a laptop as very low in use for something that requires constant number crunching. The iMac is very old tech.

So I bet an i5 or Ryzen 5 with an entry level card can outperform your current triplets. If indeed your software is GPU dependent, the an i3 or Ryzen 3 might also get the job done.

When recommending for something specific, like gaming, a standard metric is used. For example, this CPU and GPU can get you X frames per second in a specific game. Does Seti@home have some way of measuring performance?
