Need Backup Program For XP

I'm transfering all my music CDs to the HD on my old PC . After transfering over 100 CDs I found that my main list had disapeared from the HD, and the list that vanished had some 200 plus tunes more than my backup. I now have to check all the recorded CDs once agin to replace the missing tunes. I am looking for software that will backup only the new entries to my backup and my Hifidelio (music centre) drive, The PC is using XtT OS,

when this happens the hard disk might be failing, so first be sure that the hard disk is still viable to work, run checkdisk on that hard disk, if it reports damaged sectors and many file errors, that hard disk is not viable for the task you are performing

I performed a surface check a couple of times after the problem cropped up with no errors. The HD (external) was bought new about a year ago and is being used for archiving, so it's not often addressed. I have a backup, unfortunately not 100% up to date, but I can not use the backup together with the Hifidelio.
