Hi all,

I need a bit of help to get a new graphics card, if thats even still possible.

Ok here we go 😀

Last weekend i played the beta of Aion and my desktop was laggin all over the place, I'm wondering if its still possible to put a better graphic card in it, i could play WoW and Guildwars on it with no problem at all.

I bought it in 2004,
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4 Ghz,
DDR 1,5 GB Ram,
AGP x8 (Nvidia Geforce 6600 256MB 128Bit at the moment)

I really would appreciate it if anyone could point me towards Graphic cards that would be able to run on it, cause in all honesty i dont have a clue what i'm looking at when i look at the diffrent kinds.

Thanks in Advance,

Anica

The HD3650 or 2600XT are as much as you want to go for.
Check the Newegg reviews before you make a decision; Some cards have issues with drivers or cooling.

TBH, you'd be better off with either a new box or CPU/RAM/MB/graphics and PSU change, though.
A cheap prebuilt with a modest card like the HD4650 would be a night and day improvement.

I kinda was thinking that was the way to go tbh, but i thought it was worth asking :)

Thank you very much for your reply coozie,

It is, its like i wanna blow a bit of new life in it but well its not gonna happen this time lol.

Mind you when we got it it was top the notch and it has served well and has loads of hours underneath its belt, i know its sounds stupid but its like i'm sad to let it go, think its diffrent when it actually breaks, might keep it for the kids or just a surfing pc or something, not sure yet lol.

But i'm gonna look for a proper gaming pc again, its not worth buying just a middle range one, it all renews to fast imo.

Again thanks for your help :)
