I'm doing a build for my dad to replace an old work computer. I was wondering what the community thought of these cases:

  • -Antec P50
    -Fractal Design Define R5

If you think of a case that you like that are similar to those case. Constructive opinions are welcome. The case needs to have 4+ USB ports, no bigger that a mid tower, and must be black and/or professional in appearance.

Also, should I go with ddr4 or ddr3 with the h110 chipset mobo?

Parts list for anyone wondering:

With the skylake chipsets, unless you have a DDR3 specific motherboard which are few and far in between, DDR4 is what you have to go for, as DDR3 will potentially fry the memory controller over time due to higher voltages.
Your build can be greatly improved, parts are overpriced and a 1TB SSD is extremely excessive.
You only need an SSD for a boot drive, and it should be 250GB for software and OS storage.
Main files on the HDD! :)
The Fractal Design R5 is a very good quality case, with a sleek design and clean look.
Assuming this is what you are going for, the Define S and NZXT S340 are also some good clean cases, although the S340 doesn't have a 5.25" bay for a DVD reader. The R4 is also a good choice.
The Antec P50 isn't great, there are better options.
I'll post an updated build below.

Works out $270 cheaper, but i've included a case. 😉
Use the SSD as a boot drive by plugging it into SATA port 0 as mentioned and installing Windows with the HDD unplugged to prevent spread of Windows files. Plug it in after.

Yeah, I tried to convince him to have an SSD with the programs and an HDD for files. The HDD in my build was added at his request for backup
