Need CPU Advice

Hello All,

I am running a Asus M4n78 Pro Motherboard with a Amd Althon x2 processer (dual core) in it the motherboard can also run AMD's Phenom™ II, (yes I know it is old 6 years to be exact) I have a Dual Xeon (cpu) build that I will be putting together later this year need to upgrade this rig first though.

my question is this which model of the Phenom 2 would be a good one, I would like either a quad core or a hex core chip.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

The amd phenom II x4 965 is a pretty decent one i would probably get that.

According to ASUS that board will accept everything up to and including the fastest Phenom II X6 1100T. I have this processor and it still works very well. If you can find a 1055T or 1100T that would be your best route.
