Hello everyone. This is my second post and its about an upgrade but first the specs.

CPU: Core2DuoE7500@3.53Ghz (using since 2009)

MoBo:Asus P5G41C-M LX(ddr2&ddr3 combo) [using since 2009]

RAM:1x2GB DDR2 800Mhz kingston [using since 2009]

GPU:GTX 650 Ti 1GB [bought 3 months ago, was using GT240 since 2009]

PSU: A bad psu marketed as 450watt but has 12a on two 12v rails=288watt [5 or maybe even 10 years old]

Case: 10 years old non-gaming mid-tower case that came with my first pc

HDD: WD Blue 2TB SATA3 [bought 1 year ago, was using 120gb IDE since 2004]

Monitor: 1920x1080

OS: 32bit XP, 32bit vista, Ubuntu

As you can see, the machine is very old. Anohter thing you can understand that I am not someone who NEEDS 60fps ultra. But my CPU,Mobo,RAM is not enough anymore for gaming. Three combos fit in my budget. i3 4130+ Asus Z81 or FX6300+970 MoBo or FX 6350+Mobo. I already have 4GB 1333mhz Corsair RAM waiting so RAM is okay. My main concern is PSU not handling it. And please note that both fx combos cost more. One more thing that I wont be buying a new OS because its 210$ here.

Games I want to play: FIFA15, The Witcher3, Mount&BladeII:Bannerlord,BF3(more performance)

Please tell me which suits my needs best and why.

Hello :) and i3 would be a slight overkill for that 650ti. A G3240 Will be enough, but if you want to upgrade Gpu soon, take the i3 4150.
The g3240 Will take your bf3 to high settings 50+FPS:)
For the mobo a msi h81m-p33 would be fine.
And a new PSU is a good idea: corsair cx430 Will provide what you need. Very silent Psu.
The cheapest way would be:
msi h81m-p33
G3240
Corsair Cx430.

I dont even Think that old PSU Will support haswell CPU, but i might be wrong

Got Pentium 3220 in my favourite store. Yeah corsair power supplies are pretty good, but for some reason they are removed now. Only PSU brands that fit under my budget (which is if I get Pentium instead of core i3) are High Power, Codegen, Aerocool,Xigmatek and Enermax. I dont think any of these brands are as good as Corsair. :na:

Most powerful is this one which has 468 watts on 12v and supports haswell power savings mode. But I dont think that I need power savings, plus I dont really think Pentium is going to cut it. I am going to keep this build for 3-4 years and then replace it altogether so not buying a new psu seems more logical. 😀
