I'm gonna make this short and sweet. I'm switching from AMD to Intel - Great Decision I know 😉
I am torn, I can get the i7-6700k (Buy a new Mobo and DDR4 RAM) Or I can get the i7-4790k Devil's Canyon (Buy a new Mobo and use my current DDR3 RAM).

This is where I cannot make a decision. Is the performance boost between the two, really that significant? The 4790k is suppose to STILL be a beast for its age! I will save around $150 if I go with the 4790k. But, the 6700k is newer (I will already have DDR4 RAM and a Mobo for newer processors Later down the road). I need your input! Please help me make a wise decision.

The Gigabyte motherboard is way better for overclocking, it has many more power phases and is overall better quality + more features.

600W PSU is more than enough for 6700K + gtx 1060, they consume less energy compared to older counterparts.
You should try to sell the DDR3 ram somewhere and go with the 6700K, the DDR4 ram isn't that expensive and your PC will be more future proof. On the other hand if you can get a cheap second hand 4790K with motherboard then you should go for it and save more than $150.
