I am on Windows Vista 32 bit and I'd like to upgrade to a 64 bit version of Windows 10. I would like detailed step by step instructions because I don't want to mess it up. (Don't tell me to go to a shop please)

Solution
OK. You need to save or document:

username/passwords for all your online sites (like here)
install files and serial numbers for whatever software you want to keep
all your personal files.

Save all of this stuff to another drive. A USB stick works.

You are starting fresh. A blank slate.

Purchase Win 10 Home x64. $100 at Newegg
http://www.amazon.com/Management-JOTO-Organizer-Computer-Entertainment/dp/B015HWXICC

Find the newest drivers for all your hardware. Save these to a USB stick. Primarily the LAN driver.

Once you are absolutely sure...(check twice or 3 times)
Boot from your Win 10 install media.

When it asks where, select each existing partition, Delete. This leave one large space.
Let Windows install to that, creating what it...

Having only Vista, you must purchase a whole new OS. And then do a whole new install.
There is no free Upgrade path from Vista to Win 10.

And having Vista 32bit, going to Win 10 64bit...that is a clean install. There is no 'upgrade'.

What do you mean 'delete everything'?
Off the existing drive? No need...that is done during the new OS install.
"When it asks where, select each existing partition, Delete. "
