It's been 4 years and I just notice that my GPU is not using all it's tended lanes.

I current am using a AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
on a Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WIFI with a bus-spec PCI-Express 3.0
and I have a EVGA Nidia GeForce RTX 2060

but I notice while using CPU-Z under the mainboard tab
at the bottom it says Link Width x8 / Max Supported x16

but when I visited the spec sheet of the mainboard it states "1 x PCI Express x16 slot, supporting PCIe 3.0 and running at x8 (PCIEX16)"
Does this mean I am not getting the full x16 lanes?

correct, due to the cpu you are using, it only supports pcie 3.0 x 8. the good news is your gpu really does not need any more lanes. you are very unlikely to be losing any performance at all as it is currently set-up.

you need a 4 or 5000 series "G" processor to get 3.0 x 16 or a non "G" 3/5000 series to get 4.0 x 16.

While you've got the platform working, I'd advise on flashing the BIOS to the latest version, then clear the CMOS, then drop in a Ryzen 5000 series processor. If you're mainly gaming with this system, then pick up an X3D SKU.
