My laptop started hanging/freezing. I tried to do a reset to factory but I do not have the installation CD's however I do have the code sticker with the 25 numbers on the bottome of case. Since i didnt know i would need the CD's the computer became unbootable. I spent 2 days getting the win 7 ISO and trying to figure out how to use it (all self taught computer learning here) Finally got the iso to start to install windows but now it wants drivers that I dont have and can't find. I tried HP and didnt know whatto download ..it is asking for cd/dvd drivers none at HP .....Any advise now?

Here's a link to the drivers (64 bit): http://hpnotebookdrivers.com/hp-pavilion-dm4-3099se-beats-edition-entertainment-notebook-pc-windows-7-64-bit-drivers/

You should be able to put them on a usb stick. At the very least you'll be wanting: Driver – Audio, Driver – Chipset, Driver – Graphics, Driver – Keyboard, Mouse and Input. Driver – Network Devices.

Thank you, I did go there and downloaded them to my USB but the windows install fails to find them.....Do I need to do something to them other than just download them to the USB. I can't open and install them on the computer I down load them with.... need to transfer them to the computer that needs them somehow
I formatted the drive is that the problem? I have formatted other drives and never had this much trouble

no windows dows not boot up. I was booting and able to run faily well in safe mode only. But then someone suggested I do a reset back to factory and me not knowing enough did that and then it wanted the install disks which I don;t have. After that I got the win 7 ISO and tried that thats when it wants drivers now because during the course of figuring out how to use an ISO (bootable usb) to install windows I formatted. The installing window starts with language then setup but instantly the Drivers are asked for and it gives a Browse or Rescan choice neither which find any driver. "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click OK." I can never get past there because I don;t have the drivers and I can't seem to get them onto the computer.

A friend just told me they have the windows 7 upgrade disks - can I use those just to get up and running then use my own OEM key code license?
