Hi,
Sorry for the old question. I spent long time with google, but not clear.
Please help me to clear with my situation.
Previously I was using dual XP on same PC. Now I want XP and 8.

- System Properties:
...Processor: AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core, 3.62 GHz
...RAM: 2.75 GB
.

- HDD: 1TB .... NTFS C:,D:,E:,F:,G: Partitions .... (c: 70GB, d: 200GB)
- C: is Primary, others are Logical Partition
- C: and D: both are for windows, I can format the both
- I'm going to install both, not continuing with any old installation.
- I'm ready to Install XP 32 Bit and Windows 8 - anyone on any drive (C and D).

Now please tell me how can I complete my dual boot.
Q1: Which one I need to install first? XP?
Q2: on which drive?
Q3: need any special trick for this dual boot?

Thanks

Install XP first. Whichever partition
Then install Win 8. On a different partition.

At boot time, you'll be given the choice of which OS to start up.
When it is running, that OS sees itself as the "C" drive. The other drives/partitions will be other letters.

But why do you need XP?

Thanks for your quick reply.

I need XP, Because:
(1) I don't like the look of the new windows: Vista, 7, 8
I always use XP classic theme.
(2) I always use file search, I don't find win8 file search helpful
(3) I use multiple old applications, which doesn't work on new Windows. Like: Illustrator 8.
(4) All applications I use on XP, is use low resource.

Just know that Microsoft pulls life support from XP in 24 days. April 8. After that, no more updates, security patches, etc, etc. Nada.

You might want to look into Compatibility Mode. Many older applications can run under Windows 7 with that.
