It's great. Although, for better gaming results, go with an i3 or an i5 as they will give the best performance. but that 6300 can still be pretty useful with 6 cores.

Hi,

If I were you, I would buy a more expensive motherboard (990FX chipset) and an aftermarket CPU cooler so I could overclock the 6300 in the future. You won't need to now, but if you end up doing crossfire, overclock would really help. Also, the motherboard is the hub of your PC and it's never a good idea to get a cheap motherboard. I would get atleast a 970 chipset motherboard.

Will this work? I'll upgrade later in time, I really don't have OC'ing in mind for now, i'll slowly work my way , i'll be satisfied as long as it's like 40 fps minimum and 50fps average at high-ultra 720p settings.

The i3 will last just enough as an FX processor as long as i'm not overclocking. And the I7 is such a total waste unless i'm going into editing. I sense a troll.

Yeah that's a great motherboard. I'm got around 40-50 FPS @ 1080p on Battlefield 4 with my 6300 and my 7950. You have a more powerful graphics card than me, so you should be just fine, even without overclocking, especially since AMD mantle is being integrated to more and more games.

I never said that you should get an i7. i was telling him to complete his "graph" by putting all the cpus up there. I've never intended to be any sort of "troll." I have hopes of becoming a mod one day here on Tom's. I don't know why you would call me a troll.

You downgraded his GPU to put an i5 in when he already said he wanted a 6300 dude...
That build is also like $100 more expensive, and will most likely get less fps in games. Graphics card is the biggest factor in games, not the CPU. Intel is not the only way to go for gaming, and I'd say that the 6300 is the best CPU for a budget gaming build at this time anyway.

My bad, I thought you were telling me to upgrade to an I7 after the I5 and then to a Xeon for gaming. I read wrong.

I said he should get the 6300 because it's better than an i3 for the price and performance, not to mention mantle and overclocking. The i5 is about $100 more expensive than the 6300, and he was already going to get one so...

The xeon can be used for gaming, xeons are good, but they are prefessional grade and have no ability to overclock, and no integrated GPU. They are geared toward professional things like servers (as you mentioned) and workstations for people who do things like CAD.

@ TropicoSuarez, it's okay. I was the aggressive one. Also, i really don't know that much about AMD processors, I haven't done my research. But I do know that they run very hot and can burn a hole through your system without a cooler

That is true with all of AMD's products; they run hotter than Intel and use more power, but tend to be able to be more aggressively overclocked.
