need for speed cheat codes

Trying to enter cheat codes for this game and having problems. It says enter
them at the start menu but i cant seem to get it to work.. what start menu
and when do i enter these codes? anyone know?

It would probably help if you posted what game you are talking about.
Also what platform (pc or xbox or whatever).
