Hello!

I have in SLI 2xGTX 970 reference design and i noticed something odd while playing Need for Speed Rivals. I have tweeked the game to run at 60fps instead at 30 (which is locked by default) and one of my cards run at about 78 degrees and the other a lot cooler, around 45-50.

Is this a game issue? I know that some games are optimized for good SLI usage but i dont know about this game.

Any thoughts?

Solution
Use nvidia inspector (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.html) and follow the instructions here:

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/643764/need-for-speed-rivals-proper-sli-nvidia-inspector-settings/

You may not need to change the antialiasing settings mentioned in that post to get SLI to work, but do change the other settings.

Even though i reply very late to this post i want to thank you for providing this solution. This was exactly what i was looking for. The top card which was running hot, dropped by 15 degrees and the bottom card (which was idle while playing the game) increased by 10-12 degrees max.

So, by doing this, the power required to play the game was split between the two GPU's, therefore prolonging the lifespan of the top card.

Thank you very much!
