Need gaming laptop around $1000

Need a good durable laptop for gaming and everyday use (going to college). Preferably around $1000. would like at least 8gb ram, i7 processor, around 15in screen. I was leaning toward ASUS but I'm open to others. Please help if you can.

check out the lenovos on newegg... they have ones for 900 on sale with all those things and 750m SLI setup... they just run a bit hotter than the ASUS gaming laptops... so you'll need a cooling pad

asus n550jk - ain't as powerful but it's touch screen, is fully alumiunium, has a nicer finish and runs much cooler and can still do all you want it to. it's around $1000+ right now.
