Need general purpose monitor with a little emphasis on gaming

Physical Size (Diagonal): 20-25in

Resolution(s) You'll Consider: 1920x1080, 1920x1200, 2560x1440, 2560x1600

Computers and Other Devices To Attach: Hdmi would be a major plus but DVI would do.

Panel Type(s) Desired: All

LED Backlight: Desired

Speakers: Indifferent to Avoided

Wall-Mount: Indifferent

Stand Functions: Indifferent

Additional Comments: Just need something to put my computer to work as it is currently sleeping through anything I put i up against on my current 1440X900 and 1280X1024 dual monitor setup.
Would like it to be good for gaming, just good enough where I don't have any excuse to curse my monitor out for being the reason I died 😉

3 hours and you are already bumping a thread.... bear in mind that quite a few of us check the forums during the daytime and we might not get back to you in a few hours.

with that said...

for $100-180 you are most likely looking at a TN panel and 1920x1080 resolution. if you find a good deal you might be able to find an e-ips panel in 1920x1080 but typically prices run higher. 1920x1200 might be out of your budget as well but i dont follow prices that closely. you want to stay with major brands. dell, viewsonic, asus, acer and the like.

for general computing a TN panel is fine but an e-ips offers a much wider viewing angle.

also for future reference... if you dualscreen, having both monitors in the same size class and resolution works out best. a monitor also isn't the reason for you getting fragged. people play games all the time on laptops at 1440x900. less than ideal for sure but more comes into play than just what hardware you have.

I wasn't talking about the resolution being a problem while gaming I was talking about the delay from when something happens in game and when it finally makes it to the screen.
