Need good graphics card

Im currently building my first build so Im still new to all this but I was wondering if an "ASUS Graphics Cards MATRIX-GTX980-P-4GD5" is compatiple with an "ASUS ATX DDR3 1600 LGA 1150 Motherboard MAXIMUS VII FORMULA"

If so, is it a good match? Also what would be a good intel processor?? Im going for a gaming/editing pc for graphics design and game development.

If theres any parts you guys can recommend, it would really be appreciated.

The GTX 980 is compatible with the motherboard you suggested. If you're doing a lot of editing and rendering, I'd go for the i7 4790K, if you were just gaming I'd say get the i5 4690k.

the formula is overpriced and it doesnt justify the price unless your cooling EVERYTHING in a custom loop. i think you should get the VII Hero.

Thanks guys and the resolution im mainly looking for is 1080p and the US. I dont really have a budget but would like to get my moneys worth.

If you are only at 1080p, may I suggest a 970? The 3.5GB VRAM most likely won't affect you.
