I have Dell U2412M, 1920x1200. But I do lots of multitasking. I open lots of program windows and net pages at the same time. I need larger monitor and better resolution. I am not a gamer. My GPU is Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti. What should I choose?

34" 3440x1440 - this may not be enough? If i choose this one maybe I can use my old monitor side by side?
43" 3840x1200 - this is like two of my old monitor side by side?
49" 5120x1440 - this should be great, but maybe to much/to big? I sit 80-90 cm from the monitor
37"-38" 3840x1600 - maybe the best for me?

Any ideas?

I already decided to use only one. I believe it is more easy to use, and looks better. But I will keep my old for a while just in case I change my mind in the future.

For multitasking and cost efficiency, I think two monitors is better than the alternatives. My preference is two 27" 1440p monitors for 5120p horizontally. Feel like you could save quite a bit just getting one new 27" monitor and keeping your U2412M – save or invest it in other upgrades. Until recently my set-up was an ASUS Designo MX27AQ and my own Dell U2412M on the side and it worked pretty well and never broke the bank.

I do like 38" 3840x1600 though, and you might not need 5120p horizontal real estate if you've been getting by with 1920! If I didn't and had the cash I might've got an LG 38WN95C, but much of the point would've been immersive gaming (on a good GPU) and cinematic video.

One last thought – about your "keep... just in case" scenario... an ultrawide with a 24" on the side is very wide, probably uncomfortably so unless you put the 24" in portrait (thankfully the U2412M can do this!)

Yes I agree two monitors are more cost efficiency, but I still want only one. I spend a lot of time in front of my monitor, so the price should not stop me from buying one large monitor. My problem is to find the right size and resolution.

Anywhere I can find pictures or videos that compare different solutions? Or show me how many windows/websites I can work with simultaneous on different monitors?

I have seen some videos and I can tell that 49" is too large. But then there is also 43" 3840x2160. So I still have 4 to chose from:

34" 3440x1440 - (4,953,600)
43" 3840x1200 - (4,608,000)
38" 3840x1600 - (6,144,000)
43" 3840x2160 - (8,294,400)

43" 3840x2160 - (8,294,400) this one maybe too large to.

I guess I will have to chose between these two:

34" 3440x1440 - (4,953,600)
38" 3840x1600 - (6,144,000)
