Hi,

I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 with the following specs:

Windows 7 64- bit OS
Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 8 GB

old GPU (which is now completely non functional after 4 years): ATI Radeon HD 5670

I don't know too much about graphics cards and their compatibility with my machine, which I why I really need some help.
I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 along with similar programs. Also, I'm not a gamer in the true sense but I do like to play games like Braid, Machinarium, Psychonauts etc. occasionally.

All the extensive research I've been trying to do has just left me more confused than ever. It would mean a lot if anyone could recommend a few options within the budget, that I could look into.

Thank you in advance,
Sam

Hi geriimyers9, thank you for your reply! I really appreciate your help. Just a quick question though.
According to the features, it requires ‘400 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 20 Amp on the +12 volt rail’.
Mine only has 300 Watts power supply. Does this mean I should buy a power supply unit additionally?
Would something like this work?: https://www.google.com/shopping/product/9241426276990435807?rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS409US409&es_sm=93&biw=1061&bih=672&q=power+supply+unit&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.&bvm=bv.92885102,d.cWc&tch=1&ech=1&psi=PPRPVcD7MoLisASIrYDoCQ.1431303262720.5&ved=0CCQQpis&ei=ZfRPVfzPA8OIsQSEroCoAg

Sorry, it is 350 Watts. I think I may have to do that if there is no better option. Thank you for taking time to reply! I appreciate it.
