Need HDD and OS help!

I have a HP Pavillion Slimline 400 that I bought like 6 months ago, and I am building a new computer now... I want to use that HDD to save money, and I just need to know, will i be able to use that OS, or will I need to buy a new one?

OEM OS licences are typically tied to the mobo and not transferable
