Hi all,

Im going to buy a pre configured build from a shop in Australia.. Ive narrowed it down to 2 possible gaming systems..

They are similar but different.. Please note they come pre configured and cannot be changed.. I looked at changing them but since its not a package deal it will end up costing more.. (Wanted to change the i7 to i5 for example)..

Ive made the differences Bold and Underline for easier reading.

Purpose of the system: Gaming at Ultra level.

1800$ Build:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Motherboard
Graphics: XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB
Memory: G.Skill Sniper F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Solid State Drive: Samsung 840 EVO Series 120GB SSD
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001
Optical Drive: Pioneer DVR-220LBKS Black 24x DVDRW Drive
Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Case Black (* Phantom 530 is also available in red or white colour if preferred)
CPU Cooling: NZXT Havik 140 CPU Cooler
Power Supply: Silverstone Strider Plus 750W ST75F-P
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with SP1 (*Windows 8.1 also available if preferred)
Warranty: 1 year return-to-base warranty on assembly, see individual product pages for warranty duration on each component

VS

2400$ Build:
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Motherboard
Graphics: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB
Memory: G.Skill Sniper F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Solid State Drive: Samsung 840 EVO Series 120GB SSD
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001
Optical Drive: Pioneer DVR-220LBKS Black 24x DVDRW Drive
Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Case White (*also available in black or red colour if preferred)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X40 140mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
Power Supply: Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with SP1 (*Windows 8.1 also available if preferred)
Warranty: 1 year return-to-base warranty on assembly, see individual product pages for warranty duration on each component

Basically the differences are:
Intel i5 vs 4670k vs Intel i7 4770k
XFX R9 290 vs GTX 780 Ti
NZXT Havik 140 CPU Cooler vs NZXT Kraken X40 140mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
Silverstone Strider Plus 750W ST75F-P vs Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W

So the 600$ difference comes to a better CPU, GPU, PSU and Cooler (liquid too).

What do you guys reckon? Is the difference worth it?
In the long future I do want to add a SLI / Crossfire.. Now the R9 will be cheaper to do that but runs really hot (and intended to but still)..

Thanks for all of your help

Hey, nice build! I would personally get the second build because put simply it is more powerful and unless you have money to burn it will last you longer than the other build. BUT I would change the CPU cooler to the Swiftech H220 Liquid Cooler and the power supply to the Silverstone Strider Gold 750W for that little bit more reliability (you don't HAVE to change the PSU but I highly recommend the H220).

Let me know if you need any more help!
