I've tried really hard building a pc through newegg and tigerdirect.com. but no matter how i build it it goes over my buget! can you guys help me build one? thanks!

Bump that cpu up to 3.0GHz @ 1066 fsb just by moving up the fsb (11.5x266). This case offers great cooling and plenty of room. That PSU is new to the market sans the reason for no reviews on it yet. It runs two 12v rails @ 18A and has a 8A input current. This PSU is not going to hold back your rig like some other PSU's posted on this thread. That RAM is fast, and great for overclocking. The mobo comes with some decent overclocking features also. I added a heatsink to this build, but if you don't plan on overclocking then just take if off the build. The MX-2 thermal paste is non conductive, and has not set up time not to mention it does bring down your temps by a good measure.

Both X2 7750 and E5200 are the best deals here, If you plan to OC, then go with the E5200. HD 4830 is your best deal here too, beats the 9800GT.

Well one might say the E5200 is a better overclocker, but it costs about $33 more and your stuck with current s775 cpu's.
If you went with the 7750, it would still clock to 3.4-3.5 and be upgradeable to a phenom 2 in the future.
Both are great budget systems though.

He can always upgrade to an Intel Core 2 Quad with that board.

thanks guys for all the replies! i went for why_me's setup, took me a couple of hours to build the whole thing. first boot and it worked! 😀 now my only question is: doo i need to buy a 64bit vista for this system or will a 32bit xp do the job? what are the pros and cons if theres any. any answers or forum links will do. thanks again guys! 😀

Well there definitely are pros going with vista over xp, but it depends again on the circumstances. First of all, vista comes with DX10, which will make your games look better...but that also needs more GPU power, so you will get better framerates on DX9. A 64 bit OS allows you to use more memory as well, so that is a plus. You will only see 3.5gb of ram on a 32bit OS, vista home premium allows up to 16gb of ram (although you don't need more than 4gb for gaming, and vista requires more memory than xp to run smoothly). Vista is also a more secure OS than XP, so you won't get spyware and viruses as easily. Since it seems you are kinda short on cash, I can't really say whether or not its worth it (I'm assuming you own xp since you said you booted)...it's your call. If you don't already own XP, then get Vista as it will cost you only $10 more and is worth it, but if you already have XP...up to you.
