please help me out guys..

for now my pc specs is

gigabyte 970a ds3p mobo
phenom ii x4 955 3.2 ghz stock (cooled by cm seidon 120m)
8gb 1333 ram (4x2gb)
r9 280x vapor x tri x
antec 902 case
fsp raider 750w (not modular)
2x 3.5hdds
1x 2.5 hdd
gskill turbulence 2

i am thinking of buying gigabytes 78lmt usb3 (black) cause its the only black micro atx mobo available in my country, why i want to buy it? well, cause my case "902" is getting old, you know,
rusty, dusty (been trying to remove the dust at the top, just cant seem to get it off) and yeah, the looks of the design is a little outdated. and its a pain to look at my case anymore! hahaha!

so i started searching for new cases and i cant deny that i love the corsair 350d, but my current mobo (970a ds3p) is atx size (350d is micro) plus the fact that i removed the top hdd cage cause my gpu is too long,

i know 78lmt usb3 supports my cpu, and i dont overclock, but about the chipsets, i dont have any idea about that, total noob here, so, is changing from gigabytes 970a ds3p to 78lmt usb3 a bad idea?

cause i really want corsair's 350d,like, its always on my head for weeks, especially this build..

am still using stock fans of antec, and i'd like to have those af140's, or maybe wait for thermaltakes riing 140..

as for the cpu, still dont have plans on upgrading because my 955 can still play my games, if ever, it'll be fx8350 (still wont oc)

and as for the seidon, maybe change it to deepcool lucifer and use thermaltake riing 140 or af140 for push pull..

can you tell me the downside/cons of going with this board? or thos whole idea..

thanks

The 4460 is a big upgrade from your current chip, in a whole different league. It's probably the best price/performance i5 out there right now. If you can find a cheap H87/H97 board to go with it then you have a really good gaming machine.

The i7 you were looking at would be good, but it sounds like an awful board and the i7 itself is unnecessary for gaming, it's only useful if you plan on video editing as well.

The 78LMT is a big downgrade from your current board. The 970 chipset is the perfect sweetspot for gamers. Here's generally how the chipsets for these sockets go:

1. 990FX - enthusiast grade boards. Only necessary on FX-8000 series and up.
2. 970 - high end boards. Perfect for any chip from a Phenom 955 all the way up to a FX-6300 and even an FX-8350 depending on the board.
3. 780 - low-mid range boards. These boards are aimed at non gaming builds, often coming with integrated graphics. They have poor power phase design.
4. 760G - worst of the worst boards. These boards have poor power phase design, little features, and bad VRM cooling. FX-8000 chips have been known to set these boards on fire.

If you like the look of the Corsair 350D, why not go for another Corsair and get the 200R or 300R? They're both really nice cases, and will fit almost any motherboard you throw at them. In general, MicroATX AM3+ boards are plain bad.

thanks man, i think i'll just sell my cpu and mobo and buy a 2nd hand i5 and micro atx mobo..

am not really familiar with intel, hahaha! thanks

If you're getting a second i5, make sure it's an i5-4000 series. Anything older than that will soon be obsolete, with the exception of the 3570K. Also, try not to cheap out on the motherboard. A decent H97 or B85 board is good enough.

am still studying/searching about intel, as i only have little knowledge out them, i still didnt buy anything yet, i saw a 4460, but my friend said tha its not a big upgrade, so maybe 4570, but i also a 3770 mobo with an ecs board, cant remember cause uts the first time thati heard about ecs. ok, b85 it is, but am sarching for a micro atx, i also beloved patriot the mini tx, but i cant afford them.. thank
