Anytime you are dealing with WIFI, you are at the mercy of your "Aerial" environment. You may have a noisy airway. You got too many neighbors with their own WIFI and boy are they annoying. Now with that WIFI should slow down but not to cut you off completely. But I would like to check your environment first, know about signal strength and signal quality (how much noise you are dealing with)? The NIC applet would give you those kind of information. Go from there.
