Hey guys.

I'm flirting with the thought of livestreaming my games. I would love to hear what you guys have to say. Is it possible on my computer to stream and game on the same pc?
Do i need some improvements?
I was thinking about buying a AVerMedia Live Gamer HD C985. is it worth it?

Heres my pc spec.
Case: Cooler Master Elite 310
CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0
CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen 3
GPU: Sapphire RADEON HD 7870 2gb
Mobo: Asrock 970 pro 3
Ram: 8gb 2000mhz Corsair
SSD: 120gb Kingston
HDD: 500 gb something?!
Monitor: Samsung S22B350B

Games i play and want to stream is: DayZ SA, The Elder Scrolls Online, Payday 2

Thank you for your quick respond.

I am totally new on the streaming part.
My current internet connection is 12/2 is that good enough ?
Where i live, the fastest connection i can get is 60/5, wich i can change to 32/32 if needed. and its not that much more expensive than my current connection.
Should i go for that`?

Adding to what Tiny said, you need good UP speed. I don't really want to put a number on what upload speed you should have, 3 Mbps is probably the lowest upload speed for streaming. Less may work. My 1.5 up does a shotty job.

The Live Gamer will give you a really nice picture for your stream, but unless you have the internet speed to go with it, it would be a waste. Since you are flirting with the idea of streaming, I'd start out with OBS and a Twitch account.

It is a good solution, and should work well.

Another alternative would be shadowplay, if you would consider using an Nvidia card. It would have the advantage of not being limited by HDMI bandwidth (so things like 1080@144 and above are possible). Considering your card is still great and you'd have to shell out another 180 for the avermedia, maybe it would be worth a trade. Here is a comparison:

You don't really need this, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Otherwise, the avermedia would be a good purchase.

I got OBS, and a twitch account.
reading you guys' comments it seems like i'm just able to stream.
But i want to make some good looking streams. (thats one of the important things to get followers, and to keep them)
Would the 60/5 connection (changed to 32/32) and the AVerMedia Live Gamer HD C985 make a big difference for the viewers?
