Need help...after bad 1st overclocking attempt

Need help here...

Since my first (bad) experience is over, I'm into overclocking again!

can anyone guide me this time? my goal is to achieve a stable 4.0GHz, with minimal possible voltage modifications.

My system:
MOBO: Intel DH55HC
CPU: Intel Core i5 (@ stock speeds)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V8
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333
GPU: nVidia GTX295
HD: Intel X-25M G2 80GB SDD
PSU: Cooler Master UCP 900W

minimal possible voltage you have to find it yourself. Mine is 1.36.

Try to let everything on auto except for vcore at 1.38 lets say.
raise the blck to 200 and set 20x your ratio.
Althought your ram is not the best for overclocking :-/

Did you mean for OCing the CPU or the RAM itself? Because 99% of the time you won't notice a difference when OCing your RAM (and if you're not really familiar with it, RAM OCing can be frustrating and even take speeds down sometimes depending on the intervals in relation to your CPU).

But yeah, like abs said, you have to just find it yourself. Mine is at 1.384 (or something near there) and I'm running at 3.8GHz with a peak temp of ~50c (i5 as well).

I don't know why there is such a bump for 200mhz tho it require .2 for 200 more mhz
But still, i5 rocks Best cpu ever (750-760)

by the way my cpu is a i5 650 and ram: 4*2GB DDR3 1333MHz. im having a problem here, since i cant find a way to change the cpu multiplyer (x24). is that because of my Mobo (intel GH55HC)? thats what "they" mean when they say the cpu is locked/unlocked?
