So today I had my computer on and i left for a while to get some stuff done. when I com back I accidentally turned my computer off with the power button because i thought it was already off and was meaning to turn it on.
After I turned it off I tried to turn it back on and was met with the automatic repair screen after it did its thing it gave me the message "automatic repair couldn't repair your pc. log file E:\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt. something to note is the E directory seems to change because i am pretty sure when I was working on this a few hours ago it said C.
Anyway it gives me advanced options or I could cancel. I have tried just about everything on the internet on how to fix this and the obvious answer to me was just reinstall windows because i have no important files on my pc it is not a big deal to me to reset.
So I had two options to reset. First I could have gone with their version of reset, but when I tried to do that from the automatic repair advanced options section it said my drive did not have enough room to put windows on so I decided to do it from a usb drive. This is were things get tricky.
The only other computer I have access to for a few days is a chromebook, but after doing some digging I found an app that would let me write a iso to a usb from the chromebook. After going through the process and writing the windows 10 iso it says it was successful and that i can use the usb now but when I go into the bios and try to boot from the usb it is seems as if it is skipping the usb and it boots right into the automatic repair.
At this point I thought the boot order must be wrong but I checked and it is in proper order and the usb is meant to boot first. I have also tried changing usb ports and that did nothing. Another note is i have installed windows from this usb before so it is most likely not the usb's fault. I don't know what to do from here. Sorry to make this so long, but I wanted to be as descriptive as possible. Thank you for your time.
