Hello and thanks for reading this, here are my system specs:
intel i7 haswell 4770k running 4.2Ghz
msi z87g45 motherboard
corsair dominator gt 16G 2400Mhz memory
gtx 1080
corsair 800W psu
I am trying to install a new adata bu800 256G SSD. I prep a usb with windows media creation tool and load windows 10 and when I first booted from the usb it loaded and brought me to the screen in windows install where you select the partition you want to install windows on, well it says this newly formatted drive ( and yes I cleaned it and formatted it with diskpart, and it showed I have 238G available to use, in diskpart) well this brand new SSD shows zero diskspace with zero available. And when I refresh there at that same screen with one of the windows install buttons, the drive is no longer even listed as an available drive. So from here I reboot my pc and go back into diskpart and doublecheck the diskspace and what not and all looks good. I reboot and this time my usb no longer will start windows install and I checked the usb on my laptop and it said that I needed to be formatted to use. And it was not that way when I started this, it was loaded with windows 10. I swapped out all applicable cabling to eliminate a bad one.
I am not sure what is going on, but any help would be great. The only logical thing I could think is that my motherboard might be acting up and another thing, before this all began when I would boot up, the bios would only run for around 3-4 seconds at the very longest. Now when I try to boot it hangs for 40-60 seconds.
I am stumped and would probably try replacing the motherboard and go from there, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
