2Gb kingston ram
EVGA 9600GT SSC
430W Antec PSU

by the way i'm kinda on a tight tight budget, like maybe $50 but suggest other stuff cause i will upgrade when i have the cash

get any decent CPU cooler and OC this proc. buying a 9800gt instead of this 9600gt would have been a good idea. (or a 4830)

Your current score is ok for the system

CPU cooler would be the first things I would upgrade:

Now normally I don't recommend Zalman coolers because of price, but your case is very limiting and I think this one is one of your best options if you really want good cooling. You need a SFF cooler and Zalman seems to be leading the market there. Then you can OC that CPU as much as it will allow.

Then Ram, maybe some thing like these:

After that then you get into big ticket things like the GPU and CPU upgrades.

If you're using vista, definitely get 4gb of ram. COD4 will force you to lower your textures/overall quality to fit on 2gb thereby bottlenecking your graphics card.

i have good news, i can take the 9600GT back to fry's free of charge. needless to say this means i will have around $170 (GPU $ + $50) to upgrade. What should i get? i also upgraded the ram to 4

well the deed is done, err sort of. i went to the store one last time right before they closed but to my dismay all i could find was a HIS 4870 512 for i think $215, they didn't have many ATI cards at all infact. however, i also found an evga 9800GTX+ on sale for $140 after mail-in rebate so i grabed it instead. was that a good choice?

the 512, its wat they had. i would have just ordered the 4870 but i wasn't really in the mood to wait and they gave me store credit instead of just refunding me.

i ran the test again and here r the results

the gpu score rose quite a bit, now i just need to tackle the cpu however that might be a while seeing as i have run out of sufficient funds, lets hope good grades replenish the bank!
