Hey guys,
I need help building a gaming computer under $800. My main source for buying the parts is tigerdirect.ca because I know someone that can order the parts for me at a discount. It would be my first time building a computer and I am not very computer literate, so I might ask at times to explain certain things. I would be using only one monitor so far at 1920x1080. If you have any questions regarding anything, don be afraid to ask!

Thank you,
Kabama

Im sorry. I was in such a rush, I didn read other threads and looked at their format.

Here is mine,

Budget Range: $800, preferrably under.

System Usage from Most to Least Important:gaming, ms word etc., movies, browsing
Are you buying a monitor: no, i have a perfectly good monitor.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes. .

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: tigerdirect.ca ( I can get discounts from a friend there).

Location: Canada

Parts Preferences: Im not very computer literate, so right now. I do not know the best parts for my budget

Overclocking: Possibly, budget permitting.

SLI or Crossfire: No.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Looking to get the best possible deals on tigerdirect.ca, I am open to other sites but I would prefer that one.

Why I Am Upgrading: Previous computer broke and I bought it from best buy. So I am planning to build my own to save alot of money

I would like it to be upgrade-able in the future and might be able to buy more advanced parts in the future.

The pricing in TigerDirect isn't very good so I hope you are getting quite a deal there.

You can save up to $120 if you shop at other stores as well.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply!. I want to ask a few questions.
I have a local outlet store for NCIX. Will it be worth it checking out the prices there? Can i expect it to be cheaper or will online shopping be better? Also, is NCIX better than tiger direct at pricing? My friend said he can also get a discount from NCIX. What I want to try to do is try to get to order all of the parts from one store because my friend himself is not that computer literate also. Since he's doing this out of kindness, I want to try to give him as little trouble as possible. Lastly, what is the capability of this rig?

Thank you,
Kabama

You'll want to look into an aftermarket CPU cooler as well, to take advantage of that 3570k. Should be able to find something like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or something for under $30, I think. The one that comes with the CPU isn't all that great- it's usable, sure, but you shouldn't be doing much overclocking with it. Granted, if you're not gonna overclock, you're fine with what you get with the CPU.
