need help building a gaming pc between 500 and 1000$

I am looking into building my first gaming pc. I have a list of components that seemed to fit my budget, however, I will admit I have no where near enough experience to confidently purchase the parts without checking them over with someone (thus this thread was created). I'd like to possibly improve it in the future so I would like to use the DIY cuboid pc case since it had a lot of room and seemed pretty decent in all for 100$. The rest of the components are as follows:

MSI MSI Gaming Z170A GAMING M5 LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard- 260$

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor- 230$

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 740 2GB 100mm FAN OC EDITION- 140$

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB- 50$ (maybe 2 sets?)

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM- 70$

This build is completely off.

You can not use the FX 8350 with a Z170 chipset motherboard.

Additionally, if you are going for a gaming build the GT 740 will provide very very poor performance.

Use this website, and try to balance your build out.
